Another reason not to use Twitter.

I really like Gail Collins’ column today. I think everyone likes Gail Collins, but she’s probably the least talked about NYT columnist besides Bob Herbert.

For the Globe, Sal DiMasi is the gift that keeps on giving.

Other people I have a man-crush on: Kevin Cullen.

Alan Wolfe’s expertise seems to have no bounds sometimes. But I really liked this TNR piece, particularly its examination of the historical roots of both liberalism and socialism:

Liberalism is a political philosophy that seeks to extend personal autonomy to as many people as possible, if necessary through positive government action; socialism, by contrast, seeks as much equality as possible, even if doing so curtails individual liberty.
